Rotary Table Integrations by CNC Engineering, Inc.

Choosing An Integration Partner

Selecting a quality partner to integrate your next rotary table should involve more than simply comparing price and availability.  The cable management system, hardware reliability, installation process and documentation are just as important to sucessful project implementation.  Take a look at the difference between the two rotary table integrations below:

CNC Engineering Rotary Table Integration:
Zero Contamination: Our custom cable contains motor, I/O and shielded encoder conductors in a single, PVC jacketed cable.  The cable is highly flexible, resistant to coolant contamination and durable (a steel-braided version is available on request).

Clean Connection:

The cable is hard-wired to the rotary table(A) which eliminates a potential contamination point.  A single environmental quick disconnect connector(B) is used to interface the table to the machine.  This allows the table to be connected/disconnected with one quick turn.

One Cable:

One cable, rather than two means fewer connection points, less wear and low contamination risk.

Location:

We locate connectors away from chips and coolant and add a strain-relief spring management system to help minimize cable wear.

Fanuc Experts:

The Fanuc Detach Option is always enabled and allows the control to automatically disable the 4th axis when the rotary table is disconnected; no parameter changes required.

Documentation:

Our documentation package includes a CD containing original machine files as well as the modified machine files.  The package also includes additional axis electrical drawings, setup parameters and a complete parts list.  CNC Engineering maintains a complete documentation package in our library, in case your copy is ever misplaced.

Professional Installation:

Every CNC Engineering, Inc. rotary table integration package is preassembled at our facility, prior to shipping. This means our in-field turnkey installations can be completed in as little as one-day. Our rotary table integration team is the best in the business and our installation practices are always consistent with OEM standards.

The Other Guys' Rotary Table Integration:

Contamination: Traditional sealtight cable is susceptible to cracking and splitting when exposed to some coolants and continuous flexing.  Over time, cracking and splitting will lead to higher failure rates.
Connection: Here, the sealtight connections on the back of the rotary table(C) create additional potential contamination points.  These threaded connectors also make connecting and disconnecting the table a time-consuming and difficult process.
Multiple Cables: Two cables can create a tangled mess, which can cause premature wear and lead to contamination risk.  Plus, two cables require four connections and four-times the chance for contamination.
Location: Locating the connection points close to coolant and chips creates a greater chance for failure, as traditional sealtight will collect coolant.  Furthermore, the cables could easily be pinched during machine movement or part loading.
